David Pisoni

Engineering Team Member

David comes to us most recently from a nearly six-year run at Shopzilla (which was BizRate when he originally started). There he led the Web Engineering team responsible for developing all of Shopzilla's public-facing web presence. He also developed APIs that corporate partners used to access Shopzilla's voluminous data trove. He later became an Architect for the search team where he worked on creating Web Services that consolidated access to Shopzilla's complicated search engine infrastructure.

In the Internet heyday of 1996 David co-founded CyberNation (later called Cnation), a "web consultancy" in the clock tower building just off the Santa Monica Third Street Promenade. Cnation designed and built web sites and web applications for many well-known companies such as Honda, Capcom, Activision, Konami, Fox Interactive, DBC/MarketWatch, Allergan, Colombia/Tristar Entertainment, Clarion, Oakley, and even some scrappy dot-coms like eToys and (notably) BizRate.com. David hired and led the engineering and IT teams throughout the company's nearly six-year run.

David was also featured in an article in Entrepreneur Magazine's 1998 book Young Millionaires: Inspiring Stories to Ignite Your Entrepreneurial Dreams. (You'll have to ask him to find out how things fared in the years that followed). David is fluent in Newspeak and is also an expert in the "nearly six-year run". Back to team
